The growing demand for alpaca fleece, marketed as a luxury, eco-friendly product, has opened up new opportunities for Irish farmers to tap into higher-value markets.</p><p><strong>2. Environmental Impact</strong></p><p>Alpacas are also considered to have a lower environmental impact compared to sheep.
